Location
The gateway to world heritage listed Fraser
Island, Hervey Bay is situated just a scenic three and half
hour drive north from Brisbane. Hervey Bay is a rapidly growing
business centre, and is one of the premier business and tourist
destinations in Queensland.
As
the leading city in the Wide Bay-Burnett region, Hervey Bay
provides a gateway to the world for 250,000 people. This is
the number of people in the region who are able to utilise the new
airport upgrade in Hervey Bay as their direct link to Sydney
and Melbourne.
Hervey
Bay, known as the capital of the Fraser Coast, has a population
of approximately 50,000 people. As such it is larger than
Maryborough, Bundaberg, Gympie, Gladstone or Mt Isa. Hervey
Bay is now one of Queensland’s largest cities and is
its second fastest growing city.
